Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV.

Headquartered in Akron, OH, and working nationally, Welty Energy currently manages approximately $500 million in construction projects for electric utilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S.

Welty Energy is looking to add a Portfolio Manager, to our growing electric utility team! As the Portfolio Manager for Eastern PA/NJ area, you will foster client relationships, staff engagement, and process improvement while striving to become the best customer centric professional services consulting firm for electric utilities in our target geographic region.

As a Welty Energy Portfolio Manager, you will:

• be part of the Welty Energy Management Team and collaborate and consult as needed for the benefit of the organization.
• lead a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators who manage transmission and substation projects for our client(s).
• foster and maintain a relationship with a designated client and be an advocate for Welty Energy’s portfolio of services and capabilities.
• be involved with consulting on your team’s projects where your expertise and guidance is needed.
• collaborate with other Portfolio Managers and other groups (such as Engineering) to share resources and provide support as needed to deliver excellence to our client(s).
• collaborate with others as needed to provide consultation on specific projects.
• collaborate with other managers to develop processes and solutions that achieve our goals for excellence and client centricity.
• be a SME for all client software, tools and processes that are utilized by your team.
• be involved with providing training to incoming and existing staff as well as providing career development guidance to your team.
• provide general consultation to the client.
• be assigned as Project Manager for specific projects as needed and as determined by yourself, a Portfolio Director, and/or the Executive Vice President.
• assist with the pursuit of new business with existing and/or potential clients.
• be assigned specific tasks as needed and as determined by yourself, the Portfolio Director, or the Executive Vice President.
• support the Executive Vice President, Portfolio Director, and/or Senior Advisors with strategic initiatives.

You should bring to the table:

• bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or similar. Master’s degree .
• minimum of ten years of experience managing projects.
  • Electric utility project management required.
• minimum of five years of experience managing people.
• PMP .
• strong written and verbal communication skills.
• effective leadership and organizational skills.
• knowledge of or ability to learn client’s systems, tools, and processes
