What to expect You will be working on a forward-looking project in line with the German Federal Government s Climate Action Plan 2050, which also calls for significant CO₂ reductions in the aviation sector.
The focus is on developing hydrogen-based propulsion systems and, in particular, the efficient storage of liquid hydrogen at cryogenic temperatures (-253 C).
You will contribute to the development of a CFRP tank structure capable of withstanding extreme thermo-mechanical loads while meeting the highest sealing requirements.
Your main task will be to investigate the material behavior of CFRP under cryogenic conditions including experimental testing.
In doing so, you will play an important role in advancing new technologies for the use of CFRP in liquid hydrogen tanks, helping to make aviation more climate-friendly.
