Job Description
Our client. is seeking a highly skilled Structures Senior Engineer to join their Highways team on a contract basis. This role offers a blend of remote working and office presence, focusing on a range of infrastructure projects within the council's responsibility.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nUndertake work on road bridges, foot bridges, culverts, subways, retaining walls, and gantry assets as part of the planned structures maintenance programme.\nDesign and support the development of highway structures schemes, managing projects from concept to construction.\nProduce and review design drawings, specifications, tender documents, and preconstruction information.\nDevelop the planned programme based on asset management prioritisation.\nEnsure project delivery within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with technical standards and legal obligations.\nConduct visual, general, and principal inspections on site, and assess information through desktop studies and asset management software.\nManage contracts and team performance to deliver services effectively.\nCollaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to meet infrastructure objectives.\nDrive innovation in highway structures and asset management.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nChartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.\nRelevant Engineering qualification (RQF Level 4-7).\nSpecific knowledge in the design and construction of bridges and highway structures, including design codes (British Standards, DMRB Standards).\nExperience in managing bridge and highway structures projects, and supervising construction projects.\nWorking knowledge of Eurocodes.\nProficiency in Finite Element and Grillage software packages, e.g., LUSAS and ENCAD.\nExperience undertaking bridge inspections according to the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures.\nUnderstanding of duties under CDM 2015 Regulations.\nAbility to communicate at all levels and supervise the design work of other team members.\nAbility to fulfil travel requirements of the role and willingness to work in a hybrid setup.\n\nBenefits:\n\nOpportunity to work on diverse and impactful infrastructure projects.\nProfessional development and training opportunities.\nCollaborative and innovative work environment.\nFlexible working arrangements with a hybrid of remote and office work.\nIf you are a dedicated Structures Senior Engineer with a passion for highways and infrastructure, we encourage you to apply now
