Open Positions: Structured Cabling Technicians (Tech I, II, III)
We are looking for motivated and skilled technicians at multiple levels to join our growing team. Whether you’re just starting in low-voltage systems or have advanced installation and leadership experience, Premier Datacom offers opportunities to build your career with training, mentorship, and advancement.
Technician I – Starting Rate: $20/hr
Entry-Level / Support Role

Assist with installation of copper and fiber cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber Optic, etc.) under supervision.

Pull, route, and label cables in a variety of environments.

Learn proper use of tools, testing equipment, and installation standards.

Support Tech II and Tech III team members in daily tasks.
-
Ideal for candidates with limited experience but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Technician II – Starting Rate: $24/hr
Experienced Installer

Install, terminate, test, and label copper and fiber cabling with minimal supervision.
-
Plan and execute cable routing (overhead, under-floor, conduit, etc.) efficiently and safely.

Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and specifications.

Install and configure network racks, patch panels, and related hardware.

Mentor Tech I team members on proper installation techniques.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity or installation issues.
Technician III – Starting Rate: $28/hr
Lead / Advanced Role

Lead complex installations and ensure adherence to industry standards and project timelines.

Provide technical guidance to Tech I and Tech II team members.
-
Oversee and quality-check all aspects of structured cabling projects.

Act as a key point of contact for project managers and clients on technical matters.

Troubleshoot advanced system issues and implement effective solutions.

Mentor and train junior staff, fostering team development.
Qualifications (vary by level):

Tech I: Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work in construction environments.

Tech II: 2+ years of structured cabling or related experience, demonstrated technical proficiency.

Tech III: 5+ years of structured cabling experience with leadership responsibilities.

Familiarity with industry tools and testing equipment (toner, tester, punchdown tools, OTDR, etc.).

Ability to safely operate ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

BICSI certification, OSHA 10/30, or other relevant credentials are highly desirable.
