Structural Welder

Starting Pay: $22/hr
Schedule: 5am-1:30pm when on 8's, and 5am-3:30pm when on 10's
Responsibilities:
- This job requires the individual to work with and around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, power equipment, automated equipment and other hazardous processes which requires this job to be classified a SAFETY SENSITIVE position.
- Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrication.
- Calibrate welding tools and equipment according to the parameters listed in the welding procedure specification (WPS).
- Carry out fillet, tack and full penetration welding on steel structural joints.
- Apply welding processes such as GMAW and FCAW.
- Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning and grinding materials to meet requirements.
- Set equipment to weld in the vertical, horizontal, flat and overhead positions.
- Operate overhead cranes, pallet jackets and dollies to move equipment and materials into position.
- Inspect and evaluate work to ensure it is free of defects and conforms to set specifications.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Inspect and ensure equipment is in good working order at the start of shift and at the end of shift.
- Adhere to company safety and quality procedures.
- Always conduct yourself in a professional manor.
- Report any equipment or product defects to your Supervisor immediately.
Skills:
- 1 Year welding experience and/or welding school graduate.
- Able to set up, evaluate and operate various welding and cutting equipment; such as but not limited to oxygen and fuel gas cutting equipment, plasma cutting equipment and AC/DC welding equipment.
