Structural Welder

Starting Pay: $22/hr
Schedule: 5am-1:30pm when on 8's, and 5am-3:30pm when on 10's
Responsibilities:

  1. This job requires the individual to work with and around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, power equipment, automated equipment and other hazardous processes which requires this job to be classified a SAFETY SENSITIVE position.
  2. Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrication.
  3. Calibrate welding tools and equipment according to the parameters listed in the welding procedure specification (WPS).
  4. Carry out fillet, tack and full penetration welding on steel structural joints.
  5. Apply welding processes such as GMAW and FCAW.
  6. Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning and grinding materials to meet requirements.
  7. Set equipment to weld in the vertical, horizontal, flat and overhead positions.
  8. Operate overhead cranes, pallet jackets and dollies to move equipment and materials into position.
  9. Inspect and evaluate work to ensure it is free of defects and conforms to set specifications.
  10. Maintain a clean work area.
  11. Inspect and ensure equipment is in good working order at the start of shift and at the end of shift.
  12. Adhere to company safety and quality procedures.
  13. Always conduct yourself in a professional manor.
  14. Report any equipment or product defects to your Supervisor immediately.

Skills:

  1. 1 Year welding experience and/or welding school graduate.
  2. Able to set up, evaluate and operate various welding and cutting equipment; such as but not limited to oxygen and fuel gas cutting equipment, plasma cutting equipment and AC/DC welding equipment.
  3. Pass required welding qualification test
