Structural Steel Special Inspector – Nashville, TN

TTL is searching for a Structural Steel Special Inspector to join our Nashville team. This role will be responsible for performing visual inspections and nondestructive testing on construction projects throughout Tennessee.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Performs Special Inspections of Structural
  • Performs visual inspections (VT) of Structural welds to ensure that it conforms to applicable standards. AWS Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus but not required.
  • Perform Nondestructive Testing in following methods; Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant testing (PT).
  • Inspect structural steel/bolting to applicable codes.
  • Basic computer skills and related technology.
  • Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
  • Prepares daily reports and information for clients. Operates with moderate supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in reading drawings, plans, and/or blueprints
  • Nondestructive Testing Certification ASNT Level I or II Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  • Current American Welding Society CWI Certification
  • ICC Structural Steel Welding and Bolting Certification.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, orally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills and related technology
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record. Drug-free workplace.
  • Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs
  • Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights
  • Possess sufficient stamina to work in an outdoor (hot & cold) environment
