Job Description

Senior / Principal Structural Engineer\n Senior / Principal Ground Engineer\n\nWe are working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy looking to appoint both a Structural Engineer and a Ground Engineer. These roles offer the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across the commercial, residential, and public sectors within a collaborative and growing team.\n\nSenior / Principal Structural Engineer\n\nThe Role\n\nDesign and detailing of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures\nStructural alterations, refurbishments, retaining walls, and basements\nAssessing existing structures for condition, suitability, and reuse\nCoordinating designs with architectural and M&E layouts\nPreparing and reviewing structural reports, assessments, and surveys\nEnsuring compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards\nSupporting proposals and tender submissions\nAttending site visits, inspections, and client meetings\n\nSenior / Principal Ground Engineer\n\nThe Role\n\nDesign of geo-structural solutions including soil nails, rock anchors, sheet piles, secant piles, and foundations\nTemporary works, earth retention, excavation support systems, and ground improvement schemes\nInterpreting ground investigations and assessing geotechnical risk\nPreparing Desk Studies, Interpretative Reports, and Geotechnical Design Reports\nEnsuring compliance with EC7, CD622, Eurocodes, and British Standards\nSupporting tender documentation and proposals\nAttending site visits, inspections, and monitoring works\n\nAbout You (Both Roles)\n\nDegree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (geotechnical modules for Ground role)\nIdeally Chartered, or working towards\n3-5+ years' relevant design experience\nStrong technical reporting and communication skills\nExperience with industry-standard design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, MasterSeries, SCIA, Civil 3D, etc.)\nAble to work independently or as part of a team\nCommitted to ongoing professional development\nFull UK driving licence\n\nWhat's on Offer:\n\n37.5 hours/week (flexible/part-time considered)\n28 days holiday + bank holidays\nCompany pension\nOngoing training, mentoring, and support towards professional accreditation\nClear career progression within a supportive team environmentWe recognise that many engineers develop experience across both structural and geotechnical disciplines.
