As a Structural Engineer, you will use your skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify our cutting-edge products and services. Our work covers a very wide range—from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems, through highly integrated aircraft, to orbital and space exploration systems.

In this role, you will examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems. Your technical duties will involve the design and development of new products and processes throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to final certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and certify structural systems for aerospace, defense, and space exploration applications.
  • Evaluate complex metallic and composite structures and systems.
  • Develop new products and processes throughout the full product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Perform static strength analysis and classical analysis using industry-standard hand calculation methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another related discipline.
  • Experience: 4 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
  • Proven experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Hands-on experience with static strength analysis.
  • Experience with classical analysis using industry-standard hand calculation methods.

Qualifications

  • Liaison Engineering Experience
  • Aircraft Modification Experience
  • Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
  • Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
  • Experience performing dynamic analysis
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles (including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, and manufacturing/production processes)
  • Ability to author substantiation reports
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
