Job Description
Structural Engineer\n\nOur client, a leading consultancy in the infrastructure and energy sectors, is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in a permanent role focusing on the power industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects within the power, energy, and rail sectors, including substation buildings, transformer foundations, and cable management systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nUndertake civil/structural design for projects within power, energy, and rail sectors.\nEnsure compliance with relevant design standards, including Eurocodes, BS EN, Grid or DNO specifications, Network Rail, and London Underground standards.\nManage calculations, drawings, specifications, and design deliverables prepared by the team.\nConduct design reviews, independent checks, and assurance activities to maintain quality and safety standards.\nConsider Health & Safety and CDM requirements at all stages of the design process to minimise risk during construction.\nBe a key member of structural design teams through all project stages-from feasibility and concept design to detailed engineering and construction support.\nWork collaboratively with civil, geotechnical, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated design solutions.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nExperience in structural design, particularly with reinforced concrete and civil design engineering.\nExperience in a design consultancy, working towards chartership with the ICE or IStructE.\nDegree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng).\nStrong knowledge of UK design codes, standards, and industry specifications.\nProficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla TEDDS, Robot).\nTechnically excellent, with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach.\nConfident communicator with the ability to engage clients and guide project teams.\nHaving a current clean UK driving license for occasional site visits is desirable.\n\nBenefits:\n\nBe part of a growing consultancy with a strong reputation in infrastructure and energy.\nLead challenging and meaningful projects in the UK's transition to clean energy.\nProfessional development support and clear progression opportunities.\nA collaborative environment with trust and flexibility.\nCompetitive salary and employee benefits package.\nIf you are a skilled Structural Engineer with expertise in the power, energy, or rail sectors, and are looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
