Job Description
Structural Engineer \n\nLocation: Oxford\n\nWe are working on behalf of a well-established and growing structural engineering consultancy based in Oxford, who are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer with 1–5 years’ experience.\n\nThe consultancy has a strong focus on residential projects, including bespoke houses, extensions, refurbishments, and small-scale developments. They are known for their supportive culture, high-quality design work, and commitment to work–life balance — including a 4-day working week with Fridays off.\n\nThe Role\n\nThe successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of residential schemes from concept through to construction. Key responsibilities include:\n\nStructural design in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber\n\nPreparation of design calculations and technical drawings\n\nResponding to site and construction queries\n\nLiaising with architects, contractors, and clients\n\nWorking closely with senior engineers to deliver projects efficiently\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nDegree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering\n\n1–5 years’ UK consultancy experience\n\nResidential project experience \n\nWorking towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)\n\nGood knowledge of UK design standards and Building Regulations\n\nStrong communication skills and a proactive approach\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n4-day working week (Fridays off)\n\nCompetitive salary, dependent on experience\n\nExcellent training and chartership support\n\nFriendly, close-knit consultancy environment\n\nExposure to a varied residential project portfolio\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer looking to progress their career within a design-focused consultancy while benefiting from an outstanding work–life balance.\n\nFor more information or a confidential discussion, please apply with your CV or contact us directly
