Structural Engineer
Entech Engineering is a well-established, mid-sized engineering company that is 100% employee owned. We specialize in collaborating with businesses across various sectors, including commercial building design, healthcare, education, dining and more, throughout the United States. As we grow and expand, we have an immediate need for a Structural Engineer at our office in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in the design and analysis of buildings and have obtained their PE license.
This position is full time and will include a good mix of engineering with different materials (steel, concrete, tilt-up, masonry, wood) on commercial projects across the United States. Job duties include:
- Performing analysis and calculations for building loads (lateral, gravity, seismic, high wind).
- Creating construction documents and details for multiple projects and project types.
- Coordinating with in-house team members (architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical), and outside consultants (vendors, code officials. etc.), for an integrated, efficient design.
- Reviewing shop drawings, addressing comments from code officials, and responding to RFI’s from contractors.
- Traveling within the United States for building surveys, construction phase observations, team meetings, etc. and preparation of detailed reports and narratives of findings.
Requirements:
- A successful candidate must be a graduate of an accredited engineering school and possess their PE/SE license.
- A candidate should have 4+ years of experience (commercial experience .
- A working knowledge of analysis software is required (i.e. RAM Elements, spWall, spMats, Enercalc) as well as the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Autocad experience is required (Revit experience a plus).
- A candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A candidate must have a strong work ethic and be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
