We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience in the design and analysis of steel structures, preferably for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in structural engineering principles and proficient in structural modeling and analysis using RISA-3D. This role involves designing and analysis of variety of steel structures, reviewing fabrication drawings, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating with internal teams to develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective structures and structural elements. Familiarity with AISC, ASCE, and IBC codes is essential.

While candidates with ability to perform work on-site are , remote position is considered for highly qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures using RISA-3D.
  • Perform hand calculations and create Excel tools for repetitive calculations.
  • Review fabrication drawings for accuracy, structural adequacy, and consistency with design intent.
  • Interpret design requirements and prepare structural calculations and documentation as needed.
  • Apply applicable design codes and standards, including AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and TIA-222.
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports for foundation analysis.
  • Participate in technical meetings and provide engineering input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Address redline comments and coordinate revisions based on internal and client feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • 3 to 6 years of structural engineering experience, preferably with a structural steel focus.
  • Proficiency in RISA-3D or other structural analysis and modeling software.
  • Experience reading, reviewing, and interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and shop details.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other discipline stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Experience related to telecommunications, utility, industrial, or structural steel projects.
  • Familiarity with tnxTower, Mathcad, L-Pile, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Experience involving wind load calculations on structures and appurtenances.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal or custom fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel detailing and fabrication practices.
