Position Summary

We are seeking a Structural Engineer I–II to join our design and production team. This hybrid role blends structural design (65%) under the guidance of our in-house Structural Design Director with quality control and plant certification management (35%).

The ideal candidate is a motivated early- to mid-career engineer who is passionate about precast systems, enjoys detailed design work, and is eager to take responsibility for ensuring our products meet the highest engineering and manufacturing standards.

This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your structural engineering skills while becoming a key contributor to quality assurance and plant certification processes as our company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Engineering (65%)

· Design structural precast components for residential and commercial projects.

· Develop detailed drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.

· Create shop drawings and fabrication direction for manufacturing.

· Perform structural analysis and calculations for precast elements under supervision of the in-house Structural Design Director.

· Coordinate with external engineering consultants, architects, and project stakeholders as needed.

· Ensure designs comply with ACI, IRC, and IBC codes and meet constructability requirements.

· Innovate new systems and detailing methods to reduce costs and improve performance.

· Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure design feasibility and fabrication efficiency.

Quality Control & Inspections (35%)

· Conduct daily inspections of formwork, embeds, and reinforcement prior to concrete pours to ensure conformance with approved shop drawings and engineering designs.

· Perform post-pour inspections of precast elements to confirm product dimensions, finishes, and embedded hardware match design specifications.

· Participate in tracking and documenting quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings with design and production teams.

· Manage adherence to NPCA Plant Certification requirements, including documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Support compliance with ACI concrete testing standards, including field sampling, slump tests, temperature checks, and compressive strength testing.

· Become ACI-certified to perform basic in-house concrete testing, with company-provided training and support.

· Assist with developing and maintaining quality control checklists, procedures, and reporting tools to ensure consistent product quality.

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

· 2–5+ years of relevant experience in structural design or precast/concrete construction.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for structural drafting and detailing.

· Familiarity with ACI, IRC, and IBC codes and standards.

· Understanding of structural behavior, load paths, and constructability.

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage both design and QC responsibilities.

· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a team environment.

· Experience in precast concrete fabrication or field inspections.

· Previous exposure to NPCA certification or ACI testing procedures.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.

· Familiarity with BIM coordination, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or Tekla.

· Hiring & Relocation Bonus: Available for qualified candidates.
