Structural Engineer (0–5 Years Experience)
MHAI is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for early-career professionals who are ready to expand their technical skills, while taking on increasing responsibility and ownership of their work within a collaborative, supportive environment.
Our firm serves a diverse client base, offering exposure to a wide variety of projects—from structural evaluations and investigations to large institutional facilities. Project types include educational buildings, historic restorations, municipal infrastructure, and multi-family residential developments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and timber systems, with guidance from senior engineers and increasing independence over time
- Prepare construction documents, drawings, and engineering calculations
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Contribute to solving design challenges and meeting project deadlines
- Support project delivery, with opportunities to take on discrete project components or tasks as experience grows
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
- 0–5 years of relevant experience (/co-op experience considered)
- Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- Familiarity with structural design software (RAM products and Revit a plus)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
