Structural Engineer in Baltimore

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer for an excellent position located in the Baltimore, MD area. This position will own existing-building restoration work from investigation through construction support: diagnosing structural deterioration, envelope distress, water intrusion, and performance shortfalls, then completing the analysis and repair design that improves long-term safety and meets code.

Responsibilities

• Develop repair strategies that improve long-term safety and support code.

\n

• Coordinate with architects, contractors, specialty consultants, and internal staff

\n

• Direct or produce repair drawings, specifications, bid documents, and construction-phase reviews.

\n

• Perform field inspections and quality observations on occupied buildings, active sites, rooftops, and similar environments, and present findings to stakeholders.

\n

• Review team deliverables and coach/mentor junior engineers.

\n

• Contribute to proposals and ongoing client development.

\n

Qualifications & Experience

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (master’s )

\n

• Active PE license

\n

• 3+ years in structural, restoration, forensic, rehabilitation, or existing-building consulting.

\n

• Hands-on experience assessing, investigating failures, and designing repairs.

\n

• Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, construction documents, and recommendations.

\n

• Experience managing projects full scope, including budget, schedule, and clients.

\n

• Forensic or failure analysis experience is a plus.
