Overview:

BIE DSFM Construction is seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer (SME III) to support the design, renovation, and construction of educational facilities. This role involves providing expert technical guidance, reviewing structural designs, and ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as technical lead and project manager for structural engineering projects.
• Review and approve structural designs, plans, and specifications.
• Provide expert consultation on complex design and construction issues.
• Use CADD and project tracking software to manage and solve engineering challenges.
• Oversee construction, renovation, and repair projects for compliance and safety.
• Support DFSM staff and schools with technical guidance and training.
• Analyze project schedules and prepare bid packages and cost estimates.
• Create and train staff on Deferred Maintenance Work Orders (DMWOs) in Maximo.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural engineering and project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and site planning.
• Proficiency in CADD, project tracking tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license .
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
