Structural Designer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Type: Contact to hire
Pay: $35 - $50/hr

Summary
The Structural Designer role offers the opportunity to design state-of-the-art facilities across a diverse range of markets, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with structural engineers to design buildings and building foundations, equipment foundations, masonry structures, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures
• Evaluate and resolve design issues by reviewing multiple information sources and coordinating criteria with other disciplines
• Develop structural material take-offs
• Generate structural hour estimates for ongoing work and new proposals
• Provide quality oversight for structural designs completed by others

Qualifications

• Associates or technical degree
• 4+ years of experience on commercial and heavy industrial/manufacturing projects
• Minimum of 1 year demonstrated proficiency with Revit
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and senior designers
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform field/site visits as needed

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
• Understanding of structural engineering codes and standards
