REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience. OR A MS with 8+ years' experience. OR A BS with 10+ years' experience or more.

Working Title: Structural Design Engineer

Additional Duties

- Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks to SRNS.

Structural engineering tasks include:

- Analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs

- Design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, timber and composite structures

- Foundation and anchorage design

- Structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions

- Preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents

- Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

- Additional Education

- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Additional Experience Qualifications

- The following experience/qualifications are required for this position:

- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.

- Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD.

- Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, and OSHA.

- The following experience/qualifications are for this position:

- Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is .

Additional Work Requirements

Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
