Job Title:\nStructural Design & Analysis Engineer

Salary: Circa\n£45,000
What you’ll be\ndoing:
- Conduct\nstructural design of submarine components, from major equipment to\nseating systems, using engineering calculations to ensure\ncompliance with specified load cases and safety factors
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate the\nstructural integrity and performance of submarine\nsystems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary\nengineering teams to develop and deliver integrated system\nsolutions
- Compile and assess evidence to\ndemonstrate compliance with functional, safety, and performance\nrequirements
- Prepare and review detailed\ndesign and analysis\nreports, including development of analytical structural\ncalculations

Your\nskills and experiences:
- \n
- Proven\nexperience in the design and specification of rotating machinery,\nincluding gears, shafts, bearings, and couplings
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and\nanalysis of heat\nexchangers and structural components
- Proficient in structural design using industry-standard\nsoftware tools, with familiarity in relevant codes and standards\nsuch as PD5500 and ASME for pressure vessels, BS 7608 for fatigue\nanalysis, and BS 5950\nfor structural design
- Sound understanding of\nthe engineering lifecycle, encompassing concept design, detailed\ndesign, manufacturing, testing and commissioning, operation, and\nend-of-life disposal
- Chartered Engineer status\nor actively working\ntoward professional accreditation

The Propulsion\nteam:
As a member of the\nPropulsion Team, you will play a key role in the design and\ndevelopment of a critical component of the propulsion plant,\nincluding the specification and support of its procurement. This is\na unique opportunity to contribute to a new submarine programme,\nwhere you will take ownership of the design process\nto influence its development throughout the project lifecycle.\nExperience in sectors such as Maritime, Defence, Aerospace, Oil\n& Gas, or Nuclear is considered advantageous for this role. We\noffer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to\nmeeting eligibility criteria
