We’re looking for a Payloads Design Engineer to support an aircraft interiors and payloads team. This role focuses on the design and integration of aircraft interior and cargo systems, the parts of the airplane passengers see and the systems that support cabin safety, cargo handling, and overall aircraft functionality.
You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, from early design and customer configuration through production support and certification. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends design work, collaboration with suppliers, and real-world problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Help develop and document structural and interior payload system requirements
- Create and modify 3D CAD designs for interior and payload components
- Support testing and verification to ensure designs meet requirements and regulations
- Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Assist with supplier coordination, design improvements, and production support
- Support certification activities and compliance documentation
- Contribute to investigating new technologies and design concepts for future products
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Aeronautical, or Materials)
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace engineering or design
- Familiarity with engineering design standards and release processes
Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft interiors, payloads, or cargo systems
- Basic understanding of FAA Part 25 or equivalent regulations
- Experience working with aerospace suppliers or production environments
- Exposure to design for manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Interest in continuous learning and professional growth
