Structural Steel Estimator
Location: Harworth, Doncaster
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Exposure to a varied workload, including temporary works and subcontract packagesWe are seeking an experienced Structural Steel/Bridge Estimator to join a respected engineering company delivering projects across the Railway, Highways, and Construction sectors, collaborating with Tier 1 contractors. This is a largely office-based role, with occasional site visits, focused on generating accurate estimates and managing structural steelwork projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and assess drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) to determine project requirements.
Prepare and submit competitive quotations in line with project specifications, including value engineering to secure advantage where appropriate.
Issue re-quotes in line with design changes or scheme amendments.
Liaise with main contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and internal teams on technical matters.
Maintain and develop processes within the company's CRM and estimating systems (e.g., ABI Database, SAP).
Ensure all contract documentation is reviewed and confirmed upon receipt of new orders.
Collaborate with Senior Management to evaluate opportunities and optimise project value.
Undertake any other tasks reasonably requested by management.Requirements:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar estimating or quantity surveying role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.Advantageous Experience:
Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Plating/Fabrication, Steel Erection, Supervision, Project Delivery, Planning, Design.Projects Include:
Railway stations and access-for-all schemes
Rail, road, and footbridges
Platform canopies, staircases, lift shafts, motorway gantries
Structural steelwork repairs
