Job Purpose

The Static Equipment Lead is responsible for leading the mechanical/static equipment engineering activities for offshore projects, ensuring all designs comply with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role provides expert technical guidance to enhance asset reliability, safety, and adherence to engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure contractor mechanical equipment designs comply with project codes, standards, and contract requirements.

  2. Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables for mechanical equipment; provide input on related discipline deliverables.

  3. Plan and schedule engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution and ensure alignment with operational policies and standards.

  4. Participate in design workshops and ensure recommendations are implemented (3D model review, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).

  5. Support the Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring contractor progress on static equipment deliverables.

  6. Coordinate with subject matter experts across disciplines to ensure technical deviations are endorsed appropriately.

  7. Manage engineering interfaces for mechanical equipment across topsides, pipelines, and onshore facilities from an offshore perspective.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer in major oil & gas projects.

  • Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.

Technical & Business Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multicultural offshore teams.

  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

  • High proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Computer literacy with professional office applications and relevant technical tools.

  • Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipelines, structural, instrumentation, telecom, and electrical systems.
