Stamping Tool Design Engineer
Location: Greater Grand Rapids, MI Area – On-site (30 minutes west of downtown GR)
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000
Role Summary
Our client is seeking a Stamping Tool Design Engineer to join their growing team just west of Grand Rapids. This role is all about design—you’ll be responsible for developing complex metal stamping dies that support deep draw and progressive part production. From concept through final release, you’ll collaborate with engineers and toolmakers to create tooling that meets customer specifications and performs reliably on the floor.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience designing tooling (deep draw, transfer, progressive, or ICOP)

Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Edge or SolidWorks)

Solid understanding of metal forming processes and die design

Strong communication, attention to detail, and project coordination skills
Desired Qualifications

Journeyman Toolmaker background

Experience with inspection tooling or simulation software

Familiarity with continuous improvement processes
