Staff Engineer
STRATA provides professional geotechnical engineering, construction inspection, and construction materials testing (CMT) services across the Intermountain West. We currently operate offices in Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Post Falls, and Pocatello, Idaho, as well as Salt Lake City, Utah. We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our team in Post Falls, Idaho.
Position Description
The Staff Engineer works under the direction of a Project Manager, Project Engineer, or senior engineering staff and supports the successful execution of project tasks. Responsibilities include:
- Performing geotechnical fieldwork throughout the northwestern United States, including reviewing scopes of work, communicating with clients, and coordinating subcontractors.
- Completing test pit and boring explorations; logging and classifying soils in both field and laboratory environments.
- Reading and interpreting geotechnical reports, safety procedures, testing protocols, and project plans/specifications.
- Interpreting data and incorporating subsurface conditions into analyses and recommendations.
- Communicating clearly and promptly, both verbally and in writing, with team members and clients.
- Assisting in the preparation of deliverables, including geotechnical analyses, calculations, and technical correspondence.
- Supporting the development of proposals and reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (geotechnical emphasis ).
- 03 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Completion of, or progress toward, the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and EIT certification.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software .
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to comply with STRATAs drug and alcohol policy.

Travel to remote project locations and variable work hours, including overtime, may be required.
