Staff Electrical Engineer in Hanover

Job DescriptionJob Description

Build What Others Can’t. Lead What Others Won’t.

New Tech Global is partnering with an innovative engineering organization to find a Staff Electrical Engineer who thrives on solving complex, real-world problems and leading high-performing teams. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll shape cutting-edge electrical and control systems—from concept through deployment—while mentoring the next of engineers.

If you’re driven by ownership, technical excellence, and building systems that operate in demanding environments, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead System Design: Architect and deliver advanced electrical and control system designs for complex, multidisciplinary systems.
  • Own the Full Lifecycle: Drive projects from concept, analysis, and simulation through design, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Lead & Mentor: Guide and develop small-to-mid-sized teams of engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Solve Ambiguous Problems: Translate high-level, incomplete requirements into robust, working solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to build cohesive, high-performing systems.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Apply strong judgment, creativity, and attention to detail while maintaining a system-level perspective.
  • Present & Defend Designs: Lead and contribute to design reviews with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Own Outcomes: Operate with autonomy, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership over results.

What You Bring

Core Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Computer Engineering, Robotics, etc.)
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering across design, integration, and testing of complex systems
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Technical Expertise (Ideal Candidates Will Have Most of the Following)

  • Integration of COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) components into cohesive systems, including custom interface design
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, signal conditioning, control systems, and industrial electrical components
  • Experience with embedded systems (microprocessors, SBCs, sensors, actuators, I/O design)
  • Deep understanding of data communications protocols (Ethernet, USB, RS-xxx, SPI, I2C, CAN) in noisy environments
  • DC power system design and system-level power budgeting
  • Expertise in EMI/noise mitigation, grounding, and cabling design
  • Strong electrical documentation skills (schematics, wiring diagrams, system diagrams)
  • Proficiency with tools like:
    • Altium, SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB/MathCAD
    • Standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical concepts

Differentiators (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in marine or underwater systems (ROVs, AUVs, sonar)
  • Familiarity with industry and military standards (IEEE, MIL, IEC, etc.)
  • Hands-on technical skills (wiring, soldering, assembly)
  • Experience with:
    • Fiber optics
    • PCB design
    • Motor drives, robotics, and automation
    • Closed-loop control systems
    • Low- to medium-voltage power systems
    • Machine safety systems
    • Programming or scripting

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Technical Ownership: You’ll lead meaningful, complex projects—not just contribute.
  • Impact: Your work directly influences mission-critical systems.
  • Growth: Expand your technical breadth and leadership scope.
  • Variety: Work across disciplines, technologies, and environments.
  • Adventure: Occasional travel (domestic, international, and offshore) to see your systems in action.
