Lead Mission-Critical Cloud Infrastructure for Defense
Prime Solutions Group (PSG) is seeking experienced Staff DevOps Engineers to support a major engineering powerhouse driving some of the Department of Defense’s most critical missions. In this senior role, you will architect, evolve, and sustain secure, scalable, and highly automated cloud and DevSecOps ecosystems that power next- digital engineering and defense platforms. Your deep expertise will directly advance U.S. security and enable mission success across the DoD.
You will join a high-performing, innovation-driven team where your leadership in automation, cloud architecture, AWS, Kubernetes, and secure pipeline engineering will shape resilient solutions leveraged by warfighters, analysts, and senior decision-makers across the defense community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of advanced automation and CI/CD pipelines using Python, Bash, Jenkins, and modern DevSecOps tooling.
- Architect, deploy, and secure complex AWS and hybrid cloud infrastructures supporting mission-critical systems.
- Drive containerization strategies; build, scale, and optimize Kubernetes environments across programs.
- Oversee certificate management, vulnerability remediation, and end-to-end security throughout the SDLC.
- Administer and optimize Linux environments for performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Solve highly complex cloud, infrastructure, and legacy system issues with senior-level technical rigor.
- Produce high-quality documentation, architectural diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with leadership, engineers, and customer stakeholders; provide mentorship and technical direction to junior team members.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
- Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, or enterprise infrastructure roles
- Proven experience designing, securing, and maintaining AWS cloud environments
- Strong expertise in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and pipeline integration
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms
- Deep experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems in production environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls, VPCs, load balancing, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across cloud, infrastructure, and legacy environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with engineers, leadership, and customer stakeholders
- IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent), or willingness to obtain within one year
Skills & Experience
- Experience architecting and scaling Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration solutions
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Hands-on experience securing cloud workloads, applying vulnerability remediation, and managing certificates/PKI
- Experience with hybrid cloud or on-prem to cloud integrations
- Familiarity with automated testing, TDD, code reviews, and secure pipeline design
- Experience building or maintaining monitoring and observability (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
- Exposure to mission-critical defense or government programs, including compliance frameworks
- Experience writing high-quality architecture artifacts, runbooks, and operational workflows
- Ability to mentor junior engineers, lead discussions, and influence technical direction
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools such as JIRA
- Knowledge of secure authentication and systems (IAM, SSO, LDAP, Active Directory)

Salary Description
Salary range starts at $144,239, with the potential for higher compensation based on experience, skills, and mission needs.
