Overview: The Sr. Technical Sales Mining (North America) is responsible for leading direct and channel sales initiatives for ABCs core and business development product groups across the North American mining sector. This role drives strategic growth through customer engagement, product expansion, and sales performance management. The position also plays a critical role in developing relationships with partners, structuring sales plans, and achieving profitability and revenue targets while supporting ABCs brand and safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales and gross margin goals.
- Manage direct and channel sales efforts across North America, aligning with ABCs budget and strategic direction.
- Identify and execute growth opportunities for business development products and slow-moving inventory.
- Engage with key customer stakeholders to build and sustain long-term profitable relationships.
Customer Engagement & Market Intelligence
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer operations, needs, and growth plans.
- Represent ABC at trade associations and industry events to enhance brand visibility.
- Provide customer support and product demonstrations, with a focus on value-based selling.
- Monitor competitive activities and market trends; adjust strategies as needed.
Internal Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead and mentor sales team members in strategic account management and solution selling.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, technical, and operations teams to align on commercial goals.
- Contribute to product development and marketing feedback loops.
- Support internal training and development initiatives.
Performance & Compliance
- Track and report on sales performance, forecasting, and customer engagement.
- Control sales expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary requirements.
- Promote and uphold ABCs SH&E policies, reporting incidents and supporting customer compliance initiatives.
- Prepare and respond to RFQs and contract negotiations in line with ABCs standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 15 years experience in the mining industry, with a strong focus on underground mining and ventilation systems.
- Proven track record in technical sales, customer support, and business development.
- Experience in project management, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and SAP Concur.
