The Senior Supply Chain Assistant is critical role that develops and maintains positive relationships with suppliers and customers; internal and external. They will coordinate the logistics (including rail, container, truck or LTL) for delivery of products. They will be responsible for all aspects of the execution of the supply chain from the moment the deal is made to delivery to the customer.

Your role will be:

  • Coordinate delivery to customers or 3rd party storage facilities to meet program requirements while optimizing margins, mitigating freight and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Enter customer orders timely and accurately with all relevant information.
  • Monitor assigned product(s) inventory to ensure adequate supply and quality.
  • Properly accrue vendor charges for storage, freight, etc.; develop a deep understanding of the costs associated with each movement of product from to destination.
  • Manage supplier contracts ensuring contracts are executed as planned and communicated with leadership if the plan is altered.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with all partners.
  • Order, monitor and coordinate railcars based on demand and contracted shipment periods, optimizing rolling stock to avoid detention/demurrage while ensuring adequate supply.
  • Ability to look beyond today and forecast demand, supply and logistical challenges to ensure a smooth pipeline considering multiple factors including those outside of the company’s control.

Your profile needs these qualifications:

  • 4 Year Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience navigating supply chains and the opportunities and challenges they present.
  • General knowledge of logistics.
  • Experience in a commodity/trading environment is .
  • Understanding of the U.S Grain and Agricultural industry is
  • Proficient with Microsoft office. Knowledge with Agtech a plus.
