We’re searching for a Sr. Structural Engineer who can take the lead on complex structural analysis and design work within heavy industrial and refinery environments. This role is ideal for someone who excels at solving technical challenges, producing accurate calculations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering packages. You’ll contribute to structural integrity, project safety, and long-term reliability through expert analysis and sound engineering judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed hand calculations and structural evaluations for steel, concrete, and equipment-supporting structures within refinery and industrial facilities.
- Develop complete engineering packages, including drawings, specifications, and calculation sets.
- Collaborate with designers to produce and review layouts in AutoCAD and ensure design intent is accurately translated.
- Utilize RISA and related software to model, analyze, and validate structural designs.
- Support field teams with structural assessments, retrofit evaluations, and construction support as needed.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; MS in Structural Engineering .
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in structural engineering within refinery or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong proficiency with RISA, structural modeling tools, and industry-standard design codes.
- Ability to perform accurate hand calculations for structural components and connections.
- Advanced understanding of steel and concrete design fundamentals.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for drawing review and redlining.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and field teams.
