The Senior Program/Project Manager will lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering and design projects within Thompson Engineering's Built Environment practice, with an emphasis on complex industrial facilities and programmatic initiatives. This position requires proven leadership, strong technical acumen, and advanced program management expertise to successfully deliver projects in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and direction for multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects.

Plan, develop, and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.

Coordinate closely with internal Thompson Engineering teams and external partners, including architects, structural engineers, MEP professionals, contractors, and clients.

Establish and maintain project controls related to cost, schedule, risk, quality, and performance metrics.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, facilitating clear communication, progress reporting, issue resolution, and alignment with project objectives.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Thompson Engineering's safety culture, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and industry requirements.

Oversee project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.

Support business development efforts by assisting with proposals, scope and development, and client presentations.

Mentor and support junior project managers and technical staff, promoting professional development and a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) ; civil or structural engineering background strongly desired.

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in engineering and project management, including management of multi-disciplinary teams.

Demonstrated success managing large, complex engineering and design programs.

Strong working knowledge of project controls, scheduling tools, budgeting, and risk management practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Experience with industrial, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects is highly desirable.
