Sr. Program Manager – Pharmaceutical Industry

QUICK FACTS

• Location: San Diego, CA 92130 (onsite)
• Pay: $72 - 86/hr
• 6 month contract with potential to extend

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a life science discipline
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including both early- and late-stage program management (e.g., IND/CTA and NDA/MAA submissions)
• Proven experience leading global drug development programs
• PMP certification strongly
• Solid understanding of the drug development lifecycle and the interdependencies across key functions, including research, CMC, non-clinical, clinical, and manufacturing

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Collaborate with Team Leaders to guide the development and implementation of overall program strategy
• Create and maintain integrated program schedules aligned with established frameworks to support accurate project analysis, critical path identification, and assessment of resource constraints
• Evaluate program risks and contribute to the development and monitoring of mitigation plans
• Independently define and manage program goals, work plans, timelines, and budgets, providing regular formal and informal updates to stakeholders
• Lead scenario planning activities to prepare teams for multiple potential outcomes at key milestones
• Oversee relationships and deliverables with external partners (as applicable), ensuring obligations are met on schedule
• Identify and utilize interdependencies across short-, mid-, and long-term program plans, advising teams on risks and opportunities to accelerate development
