Summary:
The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting Liquid Silicone Molding (LIM/LSR), High Consistency Silicone Rubber Molding, Organic Rubber manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient production. This role partners closely with tooling, quality, maintenance, and product development teams to drive process stability, continuous improvement, and new product introductions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and optimize all elastomeric molding processes for new and existing products
- Define process parameters, bill of materials, material selection, project timelines
- Lead mold trials, T1, DOE studies, IQ, OQ & PQ process capability as defined by Cinova and our customer’s needs
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, short shots, air entrapment, knit lines, and cure issues
- Collaborate with tooling engineers and mold makers on mold design, modifications, and maintenance strategies
- Support new product introductions (NPI) from prototype through full-scale production
- Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, process windows, and control plans
- Partner with Quality to support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, cycle time, scrap reduction, and cost savings
- Train operators and technicians on LIM processes, equipment, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (cGMP, ISO 13485-2016 and FDA compliance, as applicable)
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of polymer behavior, curing kinetics, and rheology
- Ability to read and interpret mold designs, part drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with process validation, DOE, and statistical process control (SPC)
- High working knowledge with automation, robotics, and secondary operations as it relates to elastomeric and thermoplastic manufacturing
- Must have hands on process experience with LSR molding, compression molding, transfer molding, over-molding.
- Team player with a customer mindset and get it done attitude
Qualifications:
- Experience within the medical device industry as a custom contract component molder, sub-assembly
- Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 13485, &/ or FDA regulations
- Experience with SolidWorks, process simulation or molding software
- Additional thermoplastics processing knowledge, in-mold pressure sensing (RJG), Mold Flow Analysis & tool fabrication and repair methods
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
Education/Experience:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field OR
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Liquid Injection Molding (LSR) or silicone molding processes
Ability:
Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions in the English .
Effective oral and written communication in the English .

Work Environment:
- Hands on, manufacturing and production floor environment & desk
- Occasional travel to trade shows, offsite training, suppliers and customers may be required
