Sr. Naval Architect

TMB, Inc is seeking candidates for a Sr. Naval Architect to support NAVSEA Acquisition Program Office Engineering Support Services requirements. This position is contingent upon the award of the PMS 406 contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis on ship hulls and superstructures.
  • Study design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed.
  • Lead teams from a variety of specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes.
  • Evaluate how ships perform during trials, both at dock and at sea, and change designs as needed to make sure and international standards are met.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of professional experience in Naval Architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • experience with DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process).
  • Professional Engineer License is a plus.
  • Must be a United States .
  • Must possess an active DOD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
