TMB, Inc is seeking candidates for a Sr. Naval Architect to support NAVSEA Acquisition Program Office Engineering Support Services requirements. This position is contingent upon the award of the PMS 406 contract.
Responsibilities
- Provide analysis on ship hulls and superstructures.
- Study design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed.
- Lead teams from a variety of specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes.
- Evaluate how ships perform during trials, both at dock and at sea, and change designs as needed to make sure and international standards are met.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years of professional experience in Naval Architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- experience with DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process).
- Professional Engineer License is a plus.
- Must be a United States .
- Must possess an active DOD Top Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
- Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
