REPORTS TO: SABG Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt
SUMMARY: SABG is hiring a full-time Sr Military Operations Analyst (GMD Task Lead) to support U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) G37 Training, Readiness and Exercise Division (G37 TREX). This position is contingent upon contract award. Regular travel to various CONUS and OCONUS locations as mission requires.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Serve as Task Lead for Certification and Evaluation Support specializing in Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) under the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) G37 Training, Readiness and Exercise Division (G37 TREX)
- Provide expert strategic and operational assessments and technical analysis of GMD mission sets to USASMDC
- Support development of Concept of Operations (CONOPs), Contingency Plans (CONPLANs), Operation Plans (OPLANs), Brigade level External Evaluations (EXEVALs) and training programs related to GMD missions
- Facilitate the Certification, Confirmation, and Validation (CCV) process to maintain operational readiness and on-time completion of certification products
- Train all command evaluators through formal training and review other evaluators in their assessments
- Assist in the assessment of GMD certification process located at Schriever SFB, CO, and at Fort Greely, AK
- Evaluate aspects of GMD certification process with demonstrated GMD operator and/or planner experience
- Support Radar Operators and Sensor Manager OREs with familiarity of AN/TPY-2 radars operating in Forward-Based Mode (FBM)
- Support Tier 1 exercises as an Army GMD Planner
- Plan, resource and conduct certification assessments for GMD crews
- Support certifications and certification events including brigade external evaluations (EXEVALs)
- Develop master scenario event list (MSELs) and exercise development products when requested and coordinated through the G3 TREX
- Plan, develop, and prepare recommendations to update/revise the Command's Standards & Evaluations Program focusing on GMD mission areas
- Support other USASMDC mission areas as needed
- Perform command assessments focused on the command's support to Army Campaign Plan (ACP), Campaign Support Plan and HQDA Total Army Analysis (TAA)
- Conduct Intermediate Military Objective (IMO) assessments
- Develop assessment framework for campaign plans and assess command directed exercises
- Assess ongoing Operations, Activities and Investments (OAI)
- Evaluate Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) linkage
- Develop Assessments Execution Plan (AEP) and facilitate Assessment Working Group (AWG)
SUPERVISION: This position will have supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Capable of comprehending personnel space management and interior design to support stakeholder requirements. Has specialized relevant knowledge and works as a member of the team and assists with solving complex problems. Advanced level working knowledge, skills, and abilities using Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree is required and 10 years of relevant experience
- Non-Commissioned Officer Education (NCOEs), battle staff, or Officer Education System (OES)
- 5+ years GMD operator and/or planner experience
- Brigade or above level staff experience including: Orders production, Tier 1 level exercise planning, and military staff process
- Familiarity with AN/TPY-2 radars operating in Forward-Base Mode (FBM)
- Support Radar Operators and Sensor Manager OREs
- Working knowledge of GMD operational equipment and GMD operations software applications
- GMD planning fundamentals and how GMD enables the Warfighter
- Experience with GMD staff operations, Missile Defense Element (MDE) and Fire Direction Center (FDC)
- GMD exercise support experience
- Professional experience in Army writing, briefing, and presentations
- Military decision making process (MDMP)
- Complete Government-mandated training includes: Operational Security (OPSEC), Security Awareness, Antiterrorism/Force Protection, and Information Assurance Training; GMD-specific certification and qualification maintenance
SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
