What Our Client Needs:

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their research and development team. This role will focus on the design, development, and optimization of complex medical devices, materials, and combination products from concept through manufacturing transfer. The ideal candidate will bring deep mechanical design expertise, strong analytical and CAD skills, and a passion for developing innovative solutions that improve patient care and device performance.


Who You Are:

You are a technically skilled and creative mechanical engineer who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You combine design precision with problem-solving ability and have a track record of delivering complex mechanical systems in a regulated setting. You’re hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects while mentoring others and driving product innovation.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the mechanical design, fabrication, and analysis of complex therapeutic systems, assemblies, and components using CAD and simulation tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless product development.
  • Develop prototype components, systems, and subsystems, and conduct testing and analysis.
  • Drive design and phase gate reviews, as well as root cause analysis for technical challenges.
  • Ensure designs comply with product requirements, regulatory standards (such as ISO 13485), and internal quality system procedures.
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing technical priorities, timelines, and budgets.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.


This position requires minimal travel and has no supervisory responsibilities.


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s ).
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Proven expertise in CAD and solid modeling software (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and manufacturing/injection molding technologies.
  • Experience using engineering simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
  • Experience working in a regulated design environment following standards like ISO 13485, MDR, ASE, or AS9100.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze data rigorously, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
