Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in SolidWorks and 3D modeling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components and systems, producing detailed technical drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.

• Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs in accordance with industry and company standards.

• Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and basic stress/load calculations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and purchasing during the product development lifecycle.

• Support prototyping, testing, and design validation activities.

• Revise and update existing designs to improve functionality, manufacturability, or cost-efficiency.

• Maintain documentation and revision control of engineering files and project records.

• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving design and production issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (including assemblies, simulations, and PDM tools).

• Strong 3D modeling and drafting skills; experience with GD&T a plus.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, or sheet metal fabrication.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

• Experience with FEA, CFD, or other simulation tools is a plus.

Experience:

• Experience in a product development or R&D environment.

• Knowledge of engineering change processes and revision control systems.

• Exposure to ERP systems and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
