Job Summary
As a Materials R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for materials and process development of our ceramic 3D printing mold production process. A successful candidate for this role will demonstrate creativity, integrity, determination, humility and outstanding capacity for first-principles analytical thinking. Rangeview has been developing a unique process to produce fine-featured parts out of high temperature superalloys that cannot be produced by any other manufacturing process. This is a foundational member of that R&D team, with major opportunity for impact.
We are currently hiring for L2(Junior) - L4IC (Principal).
Job Responsibilities
- Own a 8-12 month roadmap of R&D technical objectives. Be accountable to executing to these plans.
- Make decisions to balance technical considerations with schedule and resource needs
- Design slurry recipes and processes for mixing, printing, debinding and sintering of ceramic printed parts
- Perform tests hands on in the lab, from analytical materials testing to running 3D printers and furnaces
- Work with vendors to source R&D materials and ensure material formulations are cost-effective and available
- Design tests and trials to advance process capability, including Taguchi-style DOEs
- Interpret and perform analysis on data from a variety of sources
- Created detailed documentation of tests/trials, their results, and associated analysis to continue to build Rangeview's institutional process knowledge
- Perform process qualification to validate process outputs against customer and industry requirements
- Build analytical models to allow prediction of relevant material properties
- Perform literature review, and aggregate information from related fields to inform R&D approaches
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar Engineering discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated exceptional ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience with ceramic printing
- Experience designing experiments and interpreting results
- Familiarity with SLA printers or high temperature furnaces
- Experience with oxide (or non oxide) ceramic sintering processes
- Experience with polymer debinding processes
- Worked for a high-growth tech company / start-up
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
Summary Pay Range
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline. Salaries are based on demonstrated candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Level 2 : $108,000-$132,000, plus equity
- Level 3IC (Senior): $126,000-$154,000, plus equity
- Level 4IC (Principal): $144,000-$176,000, plus equity
