Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Senior Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of moderate to complex technical tasks related to install, maintain, trouble shoot and repair of manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to induction furnaces, laser welding, casting furnaces and related equipment. This role also includes maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation, and related systems as well as general building repairs. Strong knowledge of electronic systems, PLCs, and schematics required. Experience with related testing equipment required. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Essential Job Functions
-Melting Machines & Industrial Equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain melting machines and related industrial equipment.
- Ensure proper operation of machinery through regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Electronics & PLCs
- Diagnose and repair electronic systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Support automation and control systems to maintain efficient production processes.
- General Maintenance
- Order and maintain parts inventory.
- Perform other maintenance duties as required to support facility operations
-HVAC Systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components in HVAC equipment, including semi-hermetic compressors (up to 30-ton), liquid line driers, condenser fans and motors, and heater-related components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control components in HVAC systems, including contactors, automation controllers, relays, circuit boards, limit switches, and damper drive motors.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and belts, cleaning coils, and cleaning supply and return grills.
- Monitor and inspect heating and cooling systems to ensure proper operation.
- Repair, maintain, and install duct systems, including adjusting dampers, installing flex ducts, supply air diffusers, and return air grills.
- Repair and maintain heat and steam boilers.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under minimal supervision.
- Ability to use multimeters, related testing equipment including power tools
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
- Efficient with controls
- Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems, melting machines, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Skilled in the use of refrigerant recovery equipment, oxygen/acetylene torch, and electrical multimeter.
Education/Experience
- Technical School or Community College
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Electrical / mechanical Technology
- HVAC Mechatronics and Automation
- Certifications: Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical and HVAC
- Minimum 4 years Experience in Industrial Maintenance
- PLC Experience
- Able to drive a forklift
