We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a portfolio of diverse, technically challenging projects while leading teams, mentoring staff, and helping to grow our presence in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of environmental projects across California, including compliance, investigation, remediation, and permitting scopes.
- Lead and support technical staff in preparing resource schedules, reports, technical memoranda, and proposals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients—managing expectations, budgets, and schedules.
- Provide senior-level technical input and oversight on complex sites, including UST and non-UST projects as well as non-petroleum related sites.
- Draft and review detailed technical reports with a focus on regulatory compliance and client goals.
- Develop regulatory strategies and represent clients during regulatory discussions and submittals.
- Apply expertise across one or more technical service areas:
- Site Investigation: Phase II ESAs, groundwater/soil/vapor sampling.
- Remediation: Remedy selection, design, construction, OM&M.
- Ecological Services: Wetlands, NEPA, habitat surveys, endangered species, permitting.
- Air Quality Services: Permitting, emissions, Title V compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews and lead regular team check-ins to manage staff workloads and development.
- Collaborate with internal teams and business development leads to maintain excellent client service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing environmental investigation and remediation projects in California
- Minimum 3+ years of staff management experience
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, staff, and client relationships.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships based on trust and performance.
