Position Summary

Perform all engineering technician duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Coordinate engineering technician activities and perform hands-on fabrication, testing, and development of mechanical and electrical systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Work with engineers and fellow technicians to install prototype hardware (mechanical and electrical) using hand tools and assembly instructions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work area, adopting 5S principles.
• Diagnose technical issues using a variety of test equipment and tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and temperature measurement equipment.
• Must be able to demonstrate active listening skills and take direction from management.
• Install and troubleshoot software on prototype vehicles.
• Operate test equipment and tools, including setup, data collection, and reporting.
• Ensure adequate coverage is in place when team members are absent; this may include overtime and/or weekend work as necessary.
• Be a team player, but also be prepared to work alone when needs dictate to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Continue to self-develop and be willing to further education in support of new technologies and methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• Mechanic or comparable certification required
• Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to read, use proper grammar, and interpret technical documents
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Problem solver – adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
• Detailed-orientated

Ideal Candidates Will Also Have

• Associate's degree
• Experience working in manufacturing industries is
• Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle industry is a plus
