Summary
As a Sr. Controls Engineer, you will lead the design, installation, and maintenance of vendor specific PLC systems.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead programmer of the automation and controls systems of various manufacturers (Italy, Japan, Korea)
- Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing, start-up, and troubleshooting
- Analyze equipment issues and lead the advancement of equipment programs
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance
- Create and track FDC
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert to improve equipment production
- Document procedures, including trouble shooting and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with multiple vendors
- Provide training to Engineers, Technicians, and Operators
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS , or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment
- Experience in Battery systems or processes is desired
- Experience with C# and Python
Skills:
- Expert knowledge of controls and electrical systems design, automation, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing assembly equipment
- Expert knowledge of electrical systems and Mitsubishi PLC & Pro-face HMI software
- Proven programming skills
- Strong mechanical skills
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
- Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to mentor, train, and collaborate with other teams across the organization
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support and work with HQ and global sites
