This role is critical in ensuring robust technical due diligence, design integrity, and effective integration across all project stages.\n\nDescription\n\nLead the design management process from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring alignment with programme, cost, and quality objectives\nTake ownership of technical due diligence, reviewing design information to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities at early project stages\nManage and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, including external consultants and specialist designers\nEnsure all design outputs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and project requirements\nDrive value engineering and design optimisation to improve buildability and cost efficiency\nReview and challenge design proposals to ensure practical, technically sound solutions\nDevelop and manage design programmes, deliverables, and information flow\nCollaborate closely with pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams to support successful project outcomes\nMonitor design progress and proactively resolve issues to mitigate programme risks\nProvide leadership and support to junior team members where requiredProfile\n\nProven experience operating at Senior Design Manager or Design Manager level within a main contractor environment\nStrong technical due diligence experience, with the ability to assess and mitigate design risk\nTrack record of managing complex design processes on large-scale construction projects\nIn-depth knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and compliance requirements\nDegree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management)\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills\nCommercial awareness and ability to contribute to cost-effective design solutions\nHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nProficient in relevant digital and project management tools Job Offer\n\nSalary up to £90,000 per annum\nCompetitive benefits package including pension and annual leave\nExposure to major, high-profile projects\nClear opportunities for long-term career progression\nA collaborative and technically driven working environment
