Sr. Analyst, Regulatory & Energy Markets Compliance

Jupiter seeks to grow its team with the recruitment of aSr. Analyst, Regulatory & Energy Markets Compliance.


As aSr. Analyst, Regulatory & Energy Markets Compliance, you will support Jupiter Powers projects, deliverables, and market activities associated with the compliance of relevant rules, regulations, and tariffs.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support a growing operating fleet with market activities and deliverables associated with the compliance of relevant rules, regulations, and tariffs issued by FERC, and relevant ISO/RTO standards, tariffs, business practice manuals, and operating procedures.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of processes, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory obligations are sufficiently achieved.
  • Monitor ISOs/RTOs communications, market transactions, and scheduling and operations activities to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Support relevant internal groups in understanding and adhering to compliance obligations and associated deliverables by developing and implementing tools and training, and ensuring timely provision of compliance-related deliverables (e.g., RFIs, filings, external inquiries and requests, EQR filings, etc).
  • Support research, planning, and preparation of new project compliance readiness efforts.
  • Conduct ad-hoc independent research on industry trends and rules.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements

Requirements

  • Relevant degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the energy industry, or equivalent experience.
  • Working experience with FERC-regulated wholesale markets, state and federal regulatory requirements governing energy markets, ERCOT wholesale market, or operations role providing exposure to compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of organized wholesale electricity markets (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SPP, etc.).
  • Experience with ERCOT Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) strongly .
  • Experience with energy storage projects .
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 15% of the time.
  • High comfort level with fast-moving organizations, with the curiosity and enthusiasm to innovate and formulate new ideas and to bring the best out of co-workers.

The location for this role is Houston, TX. Highly qualified candidates who are able to work out of our Austin, TX or Chicago, IL offices will be considered. This role is subject to our return-to-office policy, which currently requires employees to work out of the office a minimum of three days per week.

Compensation & Benefits:

$110,000 - $120,000

This pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Jupiter Power considers a number of factors when determining starting compensation such as the position requirements and the candidate's qualifications.

In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity programs.
