WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT The Global Procurement division is responsible for BASF Coatings Group purchasing activities worldwide.
We negotiate contracts that provide BASF Coatings Group with tangible added value.
Our focus areas include the procurement of raw materials, technical goods and services, as well as logistics solutions.
With our comprehensive market know-how and deep understanding of value chains, we are a valuable partner for the business units.
In your new role, you utilize business experience to continuously develop our portfolio with focus on IT Software while engaging in supplier relationships management.
Therefore, you conduct market analysis, supplier evaluation, and monitor trends to identify price opportunities for our software and license portfolio.
You steer your own category strategy development, including supplier segmentation, budgeting, forecasting, and business case creation, focusing on supply security and cost competitiveness.
You lead the implementation of procurement strategies by providing market intelligence, setting negotiation targets, and managing supplier relationships and development actions.
Moreover, you regularly coordinate with Digitalization Units within the Coatings Division on market development and supplier improvement process, build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and delivery standards and identify as well as mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including assessing supplier risks and developing contingency plans.
You continuously enhance expertise through research, training, and conference participation and collaborate effectively with the global team and international stakeholders to develop as well as implement procurement strategies for Coatings specific software solutions.
WHAT YOU OFFER successfully completed university degree in the field of IT with an interest in procurement and negotiations or in the field of business administration with an affinity for IT as well as relevant professional experience in-depth understanding of software architectures (e.g.
On-Premise vs.
Cloud, Microservices, APIs) as well as of IT security and data protection requirements, knowledge of common licensing models (e.g.
Subscription, Perpetual, User-/Device-based, Enterprise Agreements), Saas platforms and license management tools as well as experience in the evaluation of software solutions regarding functionality, integration, scalability, and security requirements ability to conduct needs assessments, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analyses and ROI evaluations of software investments in close collaboration with IT and business departments as well as experience in contract review and management team player in interdisciplinary project teams (IT, procurement, legal, business departments) as well as independent and structured way of working in order to approach complex procurement projects strong communication skills in English to convey technical content to non-technical stakeholders WHAT WE OFFER We offer a wide range of local and global development and career opportunities for professional and personal development.
