Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Specialist Paralegal (Oil & Gas) to join its Global Finance and Energy Transactions practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value finance and corporate transactions across the upstream, midstream, and downstream energy sectors.
About the Role
The Specialist Paralegal will provide advanced support to attorneys on a wide range of oil and gas transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of industry terminology, documentation, and filing procedures, along with the ability to manage due diligence, document organization, and closings independently.
Key Responsibilities

Draft and review contracts, liens, conveyances, and related oil and gas documentation under attorney supervision

Prepare and file documents with county recording offices and regulatory agencies

Manage the full deal lifecycle, including checklists, due diligence, signature pages, and closing binders

Review and file UCC financing statements; order and analyze UCC lien searches and corporate documents

Maintain accurate records of oil and gas transactions and coordinate with internal teams and vendors

Provide training and guidance to junior team members as needed
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree required

- 10+ years of paralegal experience, including 10 years in oil and gas law

Experience with mortgage, environmental, and regulatory filings related to oil and gas assets

Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional transactions (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc.)

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and document management systems

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
