Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and implementing Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with ISO 9001, DOT Part 192, and company standards.
- Conduct and oversee field inspections, testing, and audits of underground piping, trenching, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), backfill, and restoration work.
- Ensure compliance with material specifications, installation procedures, and workmanship standards.
- Collaborate with field crews, operations leadership, and safety teams to resolve quality issues and prevent rework.
- Identifying and resolving workflow and production issues.
- Ensuring that standards and safety regulations are observed.
- Addressing and discussing issues and proposed solutions with leadership.
- Lead internal audits on internal & subcontractor resources and support third-party inspections.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation including inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality-related issues.
- Provide training and guidance to field personnel on QA procedures and best practices.
- Interface with client QA representatives and participate in project review meetings.
- Track and report on quality performance metrics, driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of related QA/QC experience, with at least five (5) years in underground natural gas distribution.
- Strong knowledge of DOT Part 192, API standards, and underground utility construction.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASTM, and applicable local/state regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office, QA software, and document control systems.
- Certifications such as CQA, CQE, or API 1169 .
- Excellent leadership, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
- Proven leadership in a cross functional team environment
Work Environment:
- Full-time on-site presence required.
- Field work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Coordination with internal teams, contractors, and client representatives.
