Position & Client Overview:
A large reference laboratory located throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area is seeking several Special Chemistry Medical Laboratory Scientists for their rapidly growing special chemistry testing laboratory. There are evening and day shift positions open with rotating weekends.
The lab is located in a smaller town: 15 mins south of Denton, 30 mins north of Dallas, and only 10 minutes from the airport. This is a great area that is centrally located to everything in the Metroplex region. Texas blends college-town energy with small-city charm. It offers easy access to big-city perks while maintaining a lively local scene. With hot summers, mild winters, and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities from music venues to parks, this is a family oriented and affordable place to live.
Position: Special Chemistry Medical Laboratory Scientist - LCMS a plus not a must
Salary Range: $68,000 - $80,000
Sign-On Bonus/Relocation: $5,000-10,000

Job Summary:
Discover the presence or absence of disease and provide data that help physicians determine the best treatment for the patient.
Skill Requirements:
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment
- Dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required to collect and prepare specimens
- Lab safety and infection prevention is of paramount importance
Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
- Performing testing in special chemistry
- Matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens; checking labeling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; Maintaining quality results verify and equipment function, troubleshooting, calibrating equipment and monitoring quality control measures and protocols
- Participating in staff training and educational opportunities; Identifying and communicating abnormal patient conditions reports mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials
- Contributing to a safe and secure environment, following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Maintaining patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential
Education, Certification, & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (minimum of 25 credits Chemistry required)
- One (1) year of clinical testing experience in a CLIA certified lab
- Classes required in Analytical Chem & Instrumentation
- LCMS a plus
