What you will do:

The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will support the development and verification of the spacecraft system architecture, with particular emphasis on cross-subsystem integration performance.This role involves technical execution across design, modeling and simulation, integration, and test phases, working closely with subsystem leads, test engineers, and program management to ensure cohesive spacecraft development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support definition and evolution of the spacecraft system architecture, including subsystem interfaces, performance budgets, and trade studies
  • Develop andmaintainsystem-level requirements, allocations, and verification planning across the satellite lifecycle
  • Perform and document system-level analyses (e.g., power, thermal, link, mass, data)
  • Support coordination between subsystem leads, program management, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical alignment and system integrity
  • Develop and contribute to Interface Control Documents (ICDs), CONOPS, and other system-level documentation
  • Develop and execute mission analysis and simulation tools, such as day-in-the-life simulations
  • Assistwith system integration and environmental testing activities, including test plan creation, procedure development, and test execution
  • Participate in mission assurance and launch integration efforts
  • Identifytechnical risks and contribute to mitigation planning
  • Provide hands-on support during integration and troubleshooting of spacecraft hardware and software

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+yearsof relevant engineering experience, including spacecraft or subsystem development
  • Expertisein at least one spacecraft subsystem (e.g., power, ADCS, thermal, propulsion, communications) and familiarity with system-level integration
  • Experience with modeling and analysis tools such as Python, STK, or MATLAB
  • Experience with Excel for engineering problem solving
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to technical challenges
  • Experience with spacecraft development, integration, and testing processes
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively across teams
  • Startup or small-team experience is

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is$110,000-$165,000 per year, depending onpreviousexperience.Pay ranges aredeterminedby role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will bedeterminedon a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
