Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Crystallization Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of crystallization processes for pharmaceutical and chemical products. This role offers hands-on laboratory work, problem-solving, and collaboration in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and perform laboratory experiments to support crystallization process development, including solubility screening, kinetic solubility, and metastable zone width measurements.
• Conduct small-scale crystallization experiments and analyze results.
• Generate solid-state characterization data using powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD).
• Analyze product samples for physical properties such as particle size distribution and shape using optical microscopy and laser diffraction.
• Assist with technical initiatives, including the design, installation, and maintenance of specialized lab equipment.
• Maintain accurate records in electronic laboratory notebooks and manage data using relational databases and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with crystallization techniques and solid-state characterization.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with relational databases and complex spreadsheets.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Position is Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00PM. Overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Groton, CT are encouraged to apply.
