Job Title: Solar Project Engineer

Job Description

Independently manage solar construction projects of varying sizes and complexities from pre-construction to project closeout, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed to meet or exceed planned profits.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all financial aspects of projects.

Engage with clients and subcontractors, addressing concerns and resolving issues effectively.

Provide conceptual information to illustrate ideas and concepts.

Facilitate and lead productive and effective meetings.

Prepare project baseline schedules and update them throughout the project lifecycle, using actual data versus baseline to substantiate delays and impacts.

Track and manage project financial budgets versus actuals, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

Monitor field productivity, comparing estimates to actuals, and adjust to protect labor budget and project profit.

Own project safety, conducting weekly audits and leading incident investigations and reporting to contribute positively to the company safety culture.

Identify project impacts and delays, provide timely notifications as per contract documents, and prepare detailed documentation for claim submissions.

Solve problems by understanding the root cause, developing solutions, and ensuring implementation.

Comprehend complex project concepts and manage them for success.

Travel overnight 3-4 days per week throughout the Midwest.

Essential Skills

Experience in project management and construction management.

Proven experience in managing solar construction projects from pre-construction to project closeout.

Proficiency in project scheduling, financial reporting, budget management, and project communication plans.

Familiarity with BIM tools and other project-related processes.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or 2 years of project engineering experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with design, RFI, change orders, and project engineering.

Work Environment

The role involves both office and field work, requiring overnight travel 3-4 days per week throughout the Midwest.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
